Governing Body

Being a governor at Grange CE Primary School

Governors play an important role in supporting Grange CE Primary School and helping to ensure the best possible education for our children. Our governing board includes representatives from staff, parents, the church and the local community.

The governing body meets every half term, and governors also serve on one of three committees:

  • Leadership, Management and Finance (LMF)
  • Teaching & Learning (T&L)
  • Community, Environment and Wellbeing (CEW)

Committees meet once each term. Governors regularly undertake training and maintain strong links with the wider educational community.

What do governors do?

Governors provide strategic oversight rather than managing the day-to-day running of the school. Their key responsibilities are to:

  • Set the school's vision, ethos and strategic direction.
  • Monitor educational performance and hold leaders to account.
  • Ensure school finances are managed effectively and provide value for money.

By offering support and challenge, governors help drive continuous school improvement and contribute to positive outcomes for all pupils.
