Local Community
At Grange C of E Primary School, we value the strong relationships we have built with our local community. These partnerships enrich our children's learning, strengthen their sense of belonging and provide opportunities to connect with people and organisations beyond the school gates.
St Paul's Parish Church
We are proud of our close and longstanding partnership with St Paul's Parish Church. Members of the congregation serve as school governors, while volunteers regularly visit school to lead weekly lunchtime Bible Club sessions. Children also enjoy attending end-of-term services at St Paul's, and our annual Year 6 Leavers' Service provides a special opportunity to celebrate and reflect as pupils prepare for the next stage of their education.
Cartmel Consortium
We are also proud to be part of the Cartmel Consortium, a long-established partnership of local schools working together to enrich learning and create exciting opportunities for children, staff, families and governors.
Through shared events, sporting competitions, performances, leadership opportunities and curriculum projects, our pupils build friendships, confidence and a wider sense of community beyond our own school. The Consortium includes Allithwaite CE Primary School, Cartmel CE Primary School, Cartmel Priory CE Secondary School, Dean Barwick Primary School, Flookburgh CE Primary School, Grange CE Primary School, Lindale CE Primary School and Leven Valley CE Primary School.
By working closely together, we are able to offer children a broader range of experiences while maintaining the welcoming, family feel that makes each school unique. These strong partnerships also help to support smooth transitions as children progress through their educational journey.
Wider Community Partnerships
We work with a range of local organisations and community groups that help bring learning to life and broaden children's experiences:
- Volunteer Promenade Gardeners, Grange-over-Sands
- The Grange Shed
- Lake District Music
- Printfest
- BAE Systems and Siemens STEM workshops throughout the year
- Fell House School, Grange-over-Sands
- Sandgate School, Kendal
- Morecambe Bay Curriculum Project
- Lancaster University (supporting teacher training)
These partnerships help our children develop new skills, learn from experts, contribute to their community and gain a deeper understanding of the world around them.
